Monggo Restaurant
One of my favourite Indonesian restaurant. They are serving Balinese cuisine. I like the Nasi Java which is amazing. The chicken meat is tender with a little bit of special sauce. The satay is good as well. $14 for the lunch is value for money.

Great restaurant just outside the busy area in Mt Lawley.Cozy and quite squished if it was packed, only one wait staff.Food was fantastic, beautiful presentation And delicious flavours.Very authentic Indonesian food with a modern twist, wonderful balance of sweet and salty with great flavours coming through in every bite!

Dine-in at Monggo with a friend. Restaurant atmosphere and service was good. Ordered chicken satay, beef satay (sate buntel), fried rice, fried noodle, vegetable stir fry and es campur. Chicken satay could be a little more tender, peanut sauce was too thick. Sate buntel tasted a little sour inside so not sure why. Fried rice was okay. Noodle in fried noodle was hard, maybe undercooked. Veggie stir fry was good. Es campur was okay. My suggestion is for the restaurant to improve the overall flavour of the dishes to make them more authentic, not too plain. All the best.

Had a really yummy bebek/duck here. The fat was well rendered and caramelised and the generous helpings of sambal to go along with the dish made my day. Definitely a go to spot for Indonesian food cravings. The cook/owner was really hospitable as well. I had a very pleasant experience.

Every time we have been there has been exceptional and friendly service. Lovely, airy clean ambience and I really like the Indonesian decor they've incorporated . Beautifully presented food, feels like a lot of attention and love given and it was a nice treat to dine in for a weekday lunch. Really LOVED the sambal and the lunch specials. Thank you for such a pleasant dining experience!

We came to try out their West Java Feast menu promotion, which included a free flow of anything on the special menu which meant that if we wanted more of a particular item, we were more than welcome to order more for no extra cost. We ended up with very full bellies and only topped up with extra rice. The portions were more than enough for the two of us.Everything was flavourful and cooked to perfection. The chicken was very well seasoned and tender, the fish had a gorgeous crunch on the outside and flaky juicy inside. The rice, tofu and vegetables were paired nicely with the meats. The menu overall had the right balance of sweet, salty, tangy with variety of textures that complimented everything well.Not to mention how absolutely amazing the service was. When we booked for the feast earlier that afternoon, they made sure everything was prepared and ready for our reservation that night. We waited maybe 10 minutes when we arrived before it all started coming onto our table. Our servers were so friendly and accommodating.Overall we were very impressed with this hidden gem. Service, food and atmosphere was amazing. Will be coming back to try the food in their normal menu and recommending our friends and family to Monggo.
